All

Scripture:  Genesis 7:5, “And Noah did all that the Lord had commanded him.

Observations:
Noah lived a long time
The generation around Now was exceedingly vile
God gave Noah monumental task
Noah did all that was commanded
Through him, God preserved mankind and all animal life

Application:
the importance of faithful obedience to God cannot be stressed enough.  It is not a simple chain of command kind of thing.  God actually is pleased with Noah before he asks him to do all of this stuff.  Maybe that’s the verse that stimulates me most.  ‘But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.’  God dialogues and has a friendship with Noah that precipitates in God commanding Noah.  God is not looking for merely robotic capitulation.  He wants people who will do all he commands.  We cannot excuse ourselves based in the wickedness of our current surroundings.  we cannot excuse ourselves based in the difficulty of the task.  It is our privilege to know God and for Him to entrust a task no matter how big or small to us.  To do it well and to do it in the knowledge of his favor lavished on us.

Prayer:
Father, thank you for your word.  Its so encouraging, motivating and stimulating.  I want to do all you have for me to do and not miss any of it.
