Good Morning,
Sunday morning December 28, 2009 I spoke about Abundant Grace being a disciple making community. I feel that in the past I have not led the church well into being and making disciples. In 2009 we are joining together, as a church, to be disciples. That means we are seeking to know Jesus better, listen to what he has to say and then do it. Therefore I am proposing that we join together in reading through the scriptures together with the intention of hearing what God says to us and seeking how to apply (do) what he tells us.
Several of you committed to going through this process together. I am very excited at the numbers of you who were there who have chosen to read the scriptures, pray and look for ways to obey what you feel Jesus is saying. I have committed to stay in contact with you daily to help you remember what we are doing, pray for you and print up monthly reading schedules that will be available at the church building.
We will begin this process on Thursday January 1, 2009.
Some of you have elected to receive an e-mail reminder and some have elected to be phone called and some have asked if I would simply send them a text message to be reminded about where we are in our bible reading. My hope is that this communication will not just be one way, but over time you will communicate with me and with others the things Jesus is saying and how you are growing in your relationship to Him.
Some of you are receiving this e-mail because you are a part of Abundant Grace, but for whatever reason you were not able to be with us yesterday. You may go to the Abundant Grace website to listen to the message from yesterday. If you would like to know more about the process of bible reading that I am recommending then I suggest you go to the Christ’s Church of Joplin website and follow the links to their bible reading program.
