Week of Prayer

Thank to all of you who participated in the week of prayer. I really enjoyed each evening together as we prayed for the city of Fort Scott, our mission as a church, various church plants throughout the US and our connection to world-wide mission.

I appreciate Max and Brian for providing leadership in these meetings on Monday and Tuesday. It is always refreshing to se what God will bring to a meeting through others who will step up and take the risk of leading. Thanks guys.

Through out the week I felt there was an increased burden for Abundant Grace to be meeting the needs of the community through service. I think that the food collection for the Beacon went very well. Our prayers went a long way in supporting our actions through serving the community. I believe this is to be be primary function of prayer. We pray, faith rises and we engage the work of the gospel with the power of the Holy Spirit. This is what it means to abide in Christ.

I appreciate your attention as I preached messages from the book of Acts. I feel that these message are foundational to who we are and the mission that Jesus has given the church. Please continue to look for ways to engage people with the gospel in our words and our deeds.

Brian is preparing a series through the book of Philippians. I think that this book of joy and contentment will prove to be very timely in our current circumstances of world financial decline, increased jobless rate and the climate of skepticism in our culture.

Keep making forward progress
